Engineering positions @ DHA Cogen

DHA Cogen, the first of its kind power and water project & desalination Plant located in Karachi Pakistan.The company started supply of water and electricity to people of Karachi in April 2008. DHA Cogeneration Plant is a project undertaken as a joint venture with foreign investment. First phase of the project has been undertaken with an approx cost of $115 million. Work on the second phase has already commenced and is expected to come on stream in 2010.

DHA Cogen is looking for the following key positions:

Shift Supervisor

• Should be graduate engineer from a recognized Institute In mechanical, electrical or electronic technology with at-least five years experience in DCS operation of combined cycle & desalination plant or 3 years diploma in mechanical, electrical or electronic technology from a recognized institute with at least eight years experience In the relevant field.



• Should have hands on operational experience of Siemens control system Teleperm XP, 57-300 and PS7.


• Should be able to lead the operational shift team and be responsible for plant operation during the shift


• Should be able to understand O/M manuals, P&I diagrams and basic engineering drawing.


• Experience of desalination plant will be an added advantage

Control Room Operator

• 3 years diploma In mechanical, electrical, electronics / chemical from a recognized institute.


• At least 7 years experience in the operation of combined cycle power plant. Should be well versed with the operation of the plant through OCS Teleperm XP, PCS7 and S7-300



• Should be able to understand O/M manuals, P&l Diagram and basic engineering drawings.


• Experience of desalination plant would be added advantage

Plant Operator

• 3 years diploma in mechanical /electrical /electronics / chemical from a recognized institute


• 5 years experience in the operation of power plant. Should be able to operate the plant equipments like gas turbine, steam turbine, HRSG and water treatment plant.


• Should be able to understand O/M manual, P/I diagrams & basic engineering drawings.



• Experience of desalination plant will be an added advantage

Electrical Technician

• 3 years diploma in electrical technology from a recognized institute At least 7 years experience In LT/HT swltchgear, transformer, motors, generators and UPS systems.


• Good knowledge of electrical protection schemes and PLC. Should be able to read schematic drawings and work Independently on control circuits.


• Should be able to trouble shoot and rectify faults independently.

Candidates should be well versed with safety rules and regsdat1ons Computer proficiency and excellent communication and Interpersonal skill is essential.
